Bersaglieri riding a damaged and captured Mk VI light tank. Note the sandals of a bersagliere. These kind of shoes were quite comfortable during the hot season in the desert, especially in daylight hours; less during the cold nights of the desert.

I think they are more posing on a disabled or knocked out Light Mk VI as it is missing a track and part of its rear wheel bogie.

DVX - off hand, I’d say it was the word “riding” that was being objected to.
