Is there actually anyone who has info on the actual deployment of this tank? Did it even exist for real?
(nice model anyway!)
According to Achtung Panzer!, some were:

Hello, read this http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww2/soviet/soviet_KV-1.php, used in koursk battle by the 204th Panzer Regiment, 22th PanzerDivision in 1943
With 75mm L53? the model looks like it is armed with the 75mm L43 or L48 from the panzer IV? Maybe a type as Achtung Panzer says L43’s
Yes, typo … definitely L43
There isn’t much on them, I’d like to know the general consensus of the German crews and commanders regarding the effectiveness of this beutepanzer…
Indeed! Actually it looks perfect in relation to what the German Army might have needed at 1942 - 1943 as a stopgap between a heavier tank and the Panzer IV.
- Frontal armour vs Tiger is very alike.
- Weight is (much) less than a Tiger.
- Gun was at that time perfect and could knock out any Russian tank. (even a Pz IV 75mm LONG was seen as a heavy tank at that time by allies)
- Given the rather limited eventual numbers of Tigers available, the number of KV-1’s would have been relatively sufficient.
Hello, this is a mistake of legend and as you said, it is indeed a L43 and not an L53. The proof here is a picture of the actual device, you will find on this link.
