If this is the Uganda, she has the dubios honour of actually voting herself out of the war. When victory in Europe was achived the Uganda was transferred to the Pacific to continue the fight against Japan. Some pencil pusher in Ottawa noticed the paper work on the enlistment papers for these navy crews and noted that they had only volunteered to fight the Axis powers in Europe. The sailors were then asked to re-sign their enlistment papers to include Japan. Most of these men had not been home for 3 to 5 years and so they voted not to sign and therefore the ship was sent home. They were refused refuling priviledges in Hawaii because of this.
