Is this real?
The items appear to be genuine, The Dog Tag looks very much like the ones I had long ago.
Going by you photos, it looks to be a 1944 dated American canteen, any photos of the rear.
I have equipment from 42 and there are several thinks that show if they are really real. By looking at these I would say they are real
