Rebuilding
Two german 'Frauleins' (damsels) hauling water, stepping over rifles, machine guns and even the head of a Panzerfaust can be seen. Because of the absence of most men (captivity or death) much of the hard work of rebuilding Germany was their task. The characteristic term of the 'Trümmerfrauen' (debris women) found its way into common german parlance.
