Flamethrowerguy, just a question: the oath with the three fingers, is a tradition from Prussia, a German tradition in general, or something related to religion and Trinity? For example the Swiss Vatican Guard has a simiar oath, (meaning the Trinity), and the Serbs has the three fingers as a symbol (meaning the Trinity of the Orthodox faith).

Also note the mourning band worn on the occasion of the death of Paul von Hindenburg (August 2, 1934), furthermore the photo shows the old three chevron rank insignia of an Obergefreiter (used 1921-1936).
