Reported Post by flamethrowerguy

flamethrowerguy has reported a post.

Reason:

Not sure how to handle this one, it seems to be beneficial after all. Still it’s obvious that “hanban11” is all involved in this site. He/she coincidentally finds all kind of stuff on this site and announces this in matching boards/sites…

I’ve seen that this charity auction website has got a VIP Day For 2 People At The Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight at RAF Coningsby up for auction to help raise money for charity. Here’s the link if anyone’s interested,

I’m not sure what to think of it either, but it’d be nice if they asked first…

Yup. I’m pretty sure it’s self promo after all and Procyon made his point clear about it.

Ooops!

I’ve just dealt with it before seeing this thread.

Feel free to alter the way I’ve dealt with it if you disagree.

I think you handled it well. I was myself admittedly leery of banning a poster starting a thread for charity as opposed to one for profit (in the best case) and outright fraud and identity theft in the worst cases…

But this sort of thing needs to be controlled and vetted…

Thanks.

I too was reluctant to delete a charity thread, particularly for a charity which in part supports some ex-service charities, but on the other hand I don’t think they should get special treatment when they’re spamming.

If it had been advertising something other than a WWII related thing I would have deleted it.

I did a bit of research on the charity in the hope that it would be crooked so that I could delete it in good conscience, but it seems to be straight.
