I am trying to figure out how to obtain information on a few names. Some are from some uniforms I have obtained. Others are my relatives. Is there any easy way to go about this? I heard of NARA and wrote them but some people say don’t count on them sometimes. I just want to get whatever I can. I know there are some sites but I am not paying for it either. :lol: So anyone know? Thanks.
From which country are the uniforms?
An idea of the period would be useful as well.

Every research source has its good and bad points, so of course you’re going to hear bad stuff about NARA. But if you ask me, NARA is one of the very few places that I consider AUTHORITATIVE when it comes to American history. I say you go to NARA first and see what you can find about the artifacts you have – even if you get nothing from them, you can’t really lose, right?
