The AMV 8x8 (armored modular vehicle) represents a new concept known as “modularity”. The first prototypes was tested during the year 2001 and 2002. The serial production starts in the year 2004. So far it has been ordered by Finland (24 units) and Poland (690 units). Finland has selected the AMV for its twin 120mm advanced mortar system (AMOS), while Poland will field a complete family of vehicles. For Poland, the first batch of AMVs Rosomak (Woverine) came from Finland; the rest will be built under licence in Poland.
Variants include: an infantry fighting vehicle fitted with an Oto Melara two-person turret armed with an ATK Gun Systems Company 30mm MK44 cannon and 7.62mm coaxial machine gun; an armoured personnel carrier (ARC) with remote-controlled 12.7mm machine gun; command and control; engineering and reconnaissance; ambulance; and recovery vehicles. There will also be a 6 x 6 reconnaissance model for Poland
In June 2006 another contract was signed between the Finnish constructor and Slovenia for 163 pieces of XC-360P (with closing on December 2011).

And what rate of fire of this “supergun”?
That’s is real powerful gun on Rosomak chassis.
Cheers.
Uhum…I was meaning the 30 mm canon  …look at the centre of turret…
The 12.7mm/.50 cal. is only the stripped-down base model’s weapon. Like the LAV series, the AFV is flexible and can carry an array of guns/missiles. You really shouldn’t be so quick to jump down people’s throat.
