Well I have heard a few times that British bombers carried old iron gun barrels (muzzle loading pieces) to drop on the Germans due to a lack of real bombs at one point in the early part of the war (BBMF and IWM). A couple of hundred pound of cast iron hurtling down will do some damage if it hits anything.
I was with the RAF Harrier force in Jordan for GW2 and they dropped concrete bombs with laser guidance kit fitted.
