Isn’t there a photo of this fella standing with the rifle in his hands in a ‘Clark Gable look-a-like’ pose? Great photo, this one.

Sergeant Marshall survived the war, returned to Calgary, Alberta and eventually spent his retirement years breeding champion Samoyd dogs.

I think that is the Canadian REL made #32 MkIII scope. Nice bit of glass , a friend I shoot with in the UK has one. All mine are all (eight) the UK made #32’s MkI MkII and MkIII’s. I have seen pictures of the man before, ah yes found it. http://www.calgaryhighlanders.com/history/scouts.htm
