Sgt John H. Parks

John Parks was named Man of the year by stars and stripes for this photograph and appeared on the front page of the 22 Dec, 1944 issue. Parks was killed on 23 December 1944, during the Battle of the Bulge

This is what this post should say: Sgt John H Parks a native of Indiana and a tank commander 37th Tank Bn 4th Armoured Div MIA 23 December 1944. Info from the National WWII Memorial. It should be noted that this is the unit that relieved Bastogne and the time period.
