What a brilliant comment tanked62! Really? you mean 2nd lieutenants fought in WWII? I guess that would explain the almost obscene casualty rates of US junior officers…

This is one tired 2nd Looie. Yep. Even the officers fought. At times officers as high in rank
as Brigadier General were caught up in combat.
