“Sophie Scholl: The Final Days” (Germany, 2005)

However this movie was casually mentioned in “WWII Movies & Video Clips” I like to emphatically recommend it again to everybody who hasn’t seen it yet.
I just finished the movie and I’m still under the impression.
It’s about the German resistance movement “Weisse Rose” (white rose) of Bavarian students and especially about the last days in the life of its leading female member Sophie Scholl.

As I wrote before: very advisable!

she was one of the most amazing ppl in history!
what she has done was a big step!!

I would recommend the book “Sophie Scholl and the White Rose”,by Annette Dumbach and Jud Newborn.A very accessible read about this brave girl and her family and friends.I did see the movie and thought the acting was superb. The book gives an interesting statistic; 40,000 Germans were killed in the Nazi terror,15,000 of this number were civilians executed for political crimes. The book also states another important statistic ; in the Brandenburg prison between 1940 and 1945 1,807 inmates were executed ,of this number 75 were under the age of 22.I would recommmend this book to flesh out the movie.
