Don’t know what the difference is, but since the new vBulletin version was installed there has been very little work for mods to do in dealing with spam.
Right, still I’m deleting about 5 new spammer accounts every day, mostly from India and the Philippines.
There is protection on several levels. The people that do manage to get through are actual people not robots, so there is no way of being able to keep those out. The photo research section is the only section that allows you to create threads freely, so I’m assuming most spam is in there.
I don’t mind tightening ‘security’ but need feedback first to know what has to be done.
Also, FTG, you don’t really have to delete accounts if they don’t post/spam. I can just run a script at the end of the year which would delete all accounts that have never posted and have been registered for a year (whatever numbers I enter).
