I collect German photo albums. I was surprised to find this great shot in a unremarkable German family photo album I purchased many years ago.

Almost, the division “Das Reich” didn’t exist before February 1941. The “D” stands for Regiment “Deutschland” which became a part of “Das Reich” later on.

I wonder if that tree got felled after the war ^^ other than that, could the D" stand for the "Das Reich" division?
