I am sure that all sections of the military have stupid little incidents that always taint their memory. One I think of in particular is from a friend of mine that served in the 6th Armored Division, 3rd Army. He said that when the war ended the coal miners went on strike (which is understandable sorta given their own situation). He was stuck and extra 6 months in Europe after the war ended because there was no coal to get the soldiers home. During that time he was stuck eating c rations while the German POWs ate good food.
