I canā€™t imagine anyone who actually has an interest in ww2 playing an RTS game. The only thing that is right about it are the modelsā€¦ Each to their own I suppose.

Firefly says ā€œI canā€™t imagine anyone who actually has an interest in ww2 playing an RTS gameā€ !!!
ā€œStupid participationā€ (FPS is better ??? !!!), Sudden Strike 2 is not simple RTS, ss2 is the most historically and tactically realistic real-time strategy enactment of WWII. The gameplay is still devoid of any building or resource balancing, not the likes C&C, you must capture strategical zepplings to have renforcements.

There are a lot of games put there that provide much more tactical warfare, these guys sell a few.

So do these.

Both companies offer true tactical wargaming. Real world armour and penetration modelling and real world tactics to win battles.

No grouping 20 tanks together and rushing them around the map, also no weapons like MGs causing damage to Tanks etc.

However, as with all games, if you get enjoyment out of them, then keep playing them. They are just not my cup of tea. Incedentaly, Battlefront also offer the Shock Force game which can be played RTS as well, set in a modern desert environment.
Cheers

Older combat missions were great fun, great for pick up and play or really long operations.
There was a canceled WW2 version as well, Combat Mission: Campaigns.

Sudden Strike series was fun in its own right.
