Some good suggestions…however i would have a talk with the admin or wait untill you become a moderator before making suggestions on what is acceptable and what isnt. Good way to piss people off. Dont get me wrong … glad you made this post.

Hm… About moderators. I think we need some. The Admin very often is out of range… Even old topics not cleared…

I totally agree. I think you might get moderator status when you reach 500 posts but thats just a guess and a long way off for the 3 of us that our nearest. But I guess we willl see what he does.

Also TexanSkyraider is a Colonel so maybe he is a moderator but he only has 12 posts so not sure why he is a Colonel but maybe he could show up more often a moderate. Hopefully that admin will list what goes with promotions and what it takes to get there. This would be nice to know

Isnt that TexanSkyraider running a musuem in Texas? I think thats why he is colonel. He is the closest thing to a historian.

Hm… I n think, I can be the moderator. I already modarating 2 forums, and heve a lot time on my work to do it. Also I have enough experience.

FW-190 and I are now moderators on this site. Please follow the these basic rules. I plan on leaving the site as is for the moment but will take prompt action to delete any offensive comments that are made. This has been going on. So please stop. This is directed at those who have been arguing quite offensively. You know who you are. Now quit. I have already warned you in the first place. I think FW-190 are in agreement. I think one of the problems with this forum is the communication problem with the different languages(no bad thing) But it is hard enough to interpret what people actualy mean when they talk english online let alone when English is not their mother tongue.

I am not complaining merely pointing out that some people may come across wrongly and they may need to be given the benefit of the doubt If that makes any sense :wink:

Well with anything sometimes you have to update a bit. We will have to work on the Rules a bit more so that there is no more confusion. If you would like make suggestions in here then we will make the New Rules and Lock them and make them an Annoucement so that they are clear.

Guidelines regarding the copyright

When posting excerpts from published articles and/or books, you are asked to add the following informations

  • in case the source is a periodical: the title of the article, the author(s), the name of the publication, the issue number/date.
  • in case the source is a book: the title, the author(s), the publishing house and the year.

When posting images

  • from other websites: add the address (URL) of the site which hosts the image.
  • scans from books/periodicals: follow the same rules as in the case of text excerpts.
  • photographs from private collections: the conditions of the owner must be fulfilled.

I had an Idea for a new rule possibly. I was thinking that if you are the Author of a topic you are in charge of keeping people on topic in there. This will help in keeping the site clear. Plus when things get a bit rough it takes a bit of heat of the moderaters. Just wanna know if you think this is a good idea and if you would be interested. Of course if you need help you will have to ask us to lock or delete or what not. But its a good way to get others more involved in the site. Let me know what you guys think. ???
