- This is a superb WW2 color movie made in 1961-62 [140 min]. The movie is based on a true story about WW2 espionage and it was filmed in Berlin, Hamburg, Copenhagen and Stockholm. It is the story of an oil-trader man named Eric Erickson [played by the American actor William Holden] who is “forced” by the Allies to spy for them during his business trips in Germany. Other great actors play in this excellent WW2 movie: Lilli Palmer, Hugh Griffith, Klaus Kinski and many others. I do recommend this movie to be seen. Orita 12/09/05
