I saw this movie, which is about a German colonel (played by Paul Scoffield) who is trying to steal famous French works of art and it is up to the French Underground to stop him. I thought this was a great old-time WW2 flick. Everything was so meticulously done: everthing from authentic German uniforms and weapons to railroad equipment.
There was one historical inaccuracy though: the movie takes place in August 1944, and von Rundtstedt is commanding the German troops. In reality, von Rundtstedt was fired by Hitler in June for losing Normandy and he was reinstated until September shortly before Operation Market-Garden began,
