The guard in front has an Erma 9 mm. submachinegun. It was a selective-fire weapon with a 32-round magazine designed by H. Vollmer and first produced during the 1920s in Switzerland for commercial use. First use in combat was in the Spanish Civil War (1936-39). Many were used by the Wehrmacht in World War II.
