Lifted white flag Tiger II from Kampfgruppe Peiper
That’s Tiger II “204” of Schwere SS-Panzer-Abteilung 501 commanded by SS-Unterscharführer Eduard Stadler. It was abandoned due to lack of fuel on December 24, 1944. American soldiers re-fueled it and tried to drive it to Spa, probably it was supposed to bee taken into the US. Unfortunately the engine blow near Huy. That’s were this photo was taken. Because 204 couldn’t get repaired and it blocked the “road” it was later pushed down the slope to right. The white flag however wasn’t set by its original german crew but by the G.I.s to avoid friendly fire during their ride.
