Crew training with early Panzerschreck RPzB 43, early 1944. Note the modified gasmask used in this shieldless Panzerschreck to protect the operator from the injury that might result from the backblast of muzzle gases at launching. Best regards, JR.

Those muzzle gasses were probably extremely hot as well. Out of curiosity, how many rockets were handed out with these in the field?

They were often issued with 3 rockets, kept in a wooden box that was carried on the back.
