Some versions of the Type 100 8 mm. submachinegun had a compensator, bayonet lug and barrel cover. It was initially issued to only paratroopers but soon found its way to regular ground troops. Although an ideal weapon for urban and jungle combat, the Japanese actually did very little development in this field.
