Type 91 and Type 97 explosives' yield vs that of Torpex

Hi

I’ve read quite a few things about the difference in yield of the explosive used on japanese torpedoes during WWII. I also know they had one similar to the british TorPex adopted by the US Navy in 1943, but don’t know if and when they used it operationnally.

Type 91 explosive : ???

type 97 explosive : allegedly 1.07 times that of TNT

Torpex : allegedly 1.5 times that of TNT

can anyone help me ?

Type 91 explosive was Trinitroanisole

Type 97 expolsive was Trinitrotoluene (TNT) 60 % / Hexanitrodiphenylamine (Hexyl or HNDA) 40 %

Torpex was Cyclotrimethylenetrinitramine (RDX) 42 % / Trinitrotoluene (TNT) 40 % / powdered aluminium 18%.
IJN had no similar mixture but tested TNT 60% / Hexyl 24% / powdered aluminium 16 % as explosive for torpedo warheads but it seems that it was not adopted until surrender.
