U-83 on patrol.

U-83, a Type VIIB U-boat, on its second Atlantic patrol, 1941. At this time, the boat was commanded by Oberleutnant-zur-Zee Werner Kruas, RKT. U-83 was sunk by depth charges in the Med, 4 March, 1943. The boat went down with all hands (50), including the then-commander, Kaptinleutnant Ulrich Worisshofffer. Best regards, JR.
