I am beginnig to get tired of the widespread use of the word argie in the F/M section. I am not sure if is demining used , but I know was used as such during the conflict.

I dont think its meant to be insulting. Its just like Brit being short for British. However if you are uncomfortable with it then I would express that. It might be a hard one to break people of especially if they dont mean it in an insulting manor.
I personally take umbrage at being described as a “Brit” - the only people to use that particular epithet are Americans and the IRA. Get used to it.
Difficult thing really. If we were to exclude everyones distaste at what we are called (my pet hate is Jock) then we would be issuing infractions night and day.
Just smile and take it for what it is is what I do…

Yeah, well the IRA and their fellow travellers. “Brits Out” is a fairly common slogan over that part of the world, even nowadays…
