These appear to be M36 Jackson tank destroyers. The M36’s didn’t see action in the ETO until September of '44 and Aachen fell in October. Looks like these tank destroyers have been used hard to be a month in theater. Also in a city is about the worst place to deploy an open top tank destroyer.
