Behind the photographer is the city of Oakland for which this ship is named.Must be on the way to the Alameda Naval base which is close by straight ahead.Currently the USS Hornet is tied up there as a museum.The San Francisco water front ,nothing is left of the piers pictured.Current day AT&T park home of the San Francisco Giants is on the waterfront to the left of this picture.Bay Bridge to the right.
