Little man or big rifle??? Saludos Jorge

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://ww2incolor.com/gallery/german-forces/34708/volkssturm...

The rifle is a Karabiner 98b. Although the same overall of the WW1 Gewehr 98 (barrel lenght 740mm or 12,1"), this rifle was fitted with a sidemounted sling and was thus referred to as a carbine. Unlike the similar WW1 Radfahrer Gewehr (Bicyclist’s Rifle), most K98bs were Gewehr 98 conversions done in the late 1920s and early 1930s. The K98b was longer that the Wehrmacht regular rifle K98 (about 140mm or 5,5"). However the man doesn’t look very tall… Best things to everybody.
