War wedding.

Wedding 'photo of SS-Obersturmfuhrer (later Hauptsturmfuhrer) Michael Wittmann and Hildegard Burmeister, Luneberg, 1 March 1944. Wittmann was killed in action just over 5 months later, on 8 August 1944 in Normandy. Sad. Best regards, JR.

My Uncle was killed at Normandy on D-Day on Omaho Beach. Nearly 50 years later I read an article and the man in the article was with my Uncle when he was shot. I was able to contact him. After 50 years my Aunt was able to find out how her husband died, that he was not alone and his last words were of his love for her.
