Weather Information

Anyone have any ready knowledge of where the weather reports for Western Europes coast or the North Atlantic from 1939-1945 might be found? A second question concenrs the sea conditions inside Quiberon Bay France and near it. Particularly for October 1942 through March 1943, and to the end of 1944?

I’m researching the problems of cross beach supply for amphibious landings, and the little known Allied plan for using Quiberon Bay as a supply port. Any directions or other help is appreciated.

weather report for Africa Jan 1 1942- Dec 31 1942: hot

The British reports are archived at the Met Office:

amrit…thanks. That sounds like a start.

Now about surf inside Quiberon Bay…

DoD Archives, or National Archives. Or, HMSO.
Combined Operations Pilotage Parties.
Look for beach reconnaiscance and assessment reports in the geographic region and specifc bay you require. You can request declassified records where such exist. It will take them time to do a search if the record isn’t immediately available, and there is a fee for that.
There could be about 2 tons of COPP/X craft/XE craft recon records.
