Um, a lot of these patches aren’t actually Wehrmacht ones…

Actually none of these are literally sleeve shields (Ärmelschilder) but “just” sleeve badges of particular units/forces. I’ll try and post some sleeve shield plus information later that day…

The decorations listed in your posts #12 to #15 are indeed Ärmelschilder (sleeve shields).
Still the Lappland, Balkan, Lorient, Budapest and Warsaw shield were not realised/ officially published.

A good example of a clean “krimschild” actually weared by an unknown soldat of the Panzer Divisions.

The Krimschild, btw, was the sleeve shield with the highest number of bestowals (app. 300,000).
P.S. That’s an awesome portrait btw.

I think today armies should copy the seriousness and cleanlymess of the german arm ensign of WW2, today army patches look like designs done by a 11 years old boy.
