I believe this Wellington had been forced down over Europe on a bombing run and was used for testing purposes by the Germans. The markings were for the crews safety although I am sure some trigger happy flak gunner would have shot her down in a second.

Lend Lease, although the Germans did lease a considerable chunk of Land in Europe for awhile, eventually the World Bank foreclosed on them.
