What are your strengths?

ww2admin and I were discussing some ideas for the future of the page and forum. So I have a question for you. What subjects are you strongest in? Dont all have to be ww2 related but those are the ones that will be the ones we focus on the most.

For me (not saying im an expert in any)
General and Applied Physics
WW2 Politics
WW2 Strategy
WW2 PC Games
General WW2 Trivia
Major WW2 Persons
Research (In general I never run into problems finding info)
Geology
Mathmatics
Geography

At a minimun this will help in directing members with questions to someone that is strong in that area.

We might need you for a project so please post!

-WW2 aicrafts

-WW2 aircrafts armament

-WW2 Tanks

-WW2 antitank weapons.

-German military in general.

-Drinking wine with fanta.

WWII or any war games, and the strategy. I can only know what kind of strategy to use if I have played the game. Or if I have a good description of how the game is and gameplay itself.

chinese history (especially with war)

Enjoy to talk about politics (prefer canadian and hk)

Starcraft and star wars fan

world war 2 fan (especially with war stretegy)

would love to talk about my drawings (i rarely draw now, if there is a section about it, that would be cool)

ice hockey and vancouver canucks!

Math is okay subject for me.

This goes for FW or anyone else really interested in games.

  1. Do you play alot?
  2. How diverse?
  3. Would you be willing to write more of a professional article about the game? (screenshots, details, etc…)

We are looking for a group of members that are heavy gamers and wouldnt mind writing these types of articles. Doesnt have to be extreme just a run down of what you think of the game. So let me know if your interested?

Couple of thoughts…

I’m not sure that strong gaming content is a good thing for the forum - it could draw in 10-years-old without any knowledge on history - and in the worst case history buffs would move/focus to other forums.

One thing that bothers me, is the way forum is split. There are those forum members who like to talk about nuts and bolts. And there are those forum members who like to talk about “bigger picture” (politics, strategy, wartime economy/production). The current structure of American/German/British/Russian/etc doesn’t really serve that well. And since many threads are about things like comparing two panzers (german and russian for example), then the forum structure is problem once again.

First I think that the gammers will be working off forum. Like our sister forum:
http://www.the-pacific-war.com/phpBB2/
(this is pacific forum that ww2admin has not decided on merging or not)
Not sure exactly what the plan is … just trying to find out who is interested.

Secondly the structure of the forum has been more problematic as we have gone on. Revision is an option we are considering. Please pm me or post any ideas you might have.

● The history of aviation, aerospace technology, flight mechanics, aerodynamics, pilotage etc.

● WWII ETO, MTO, CBI, PTO

● WWII-era gliders and gliderborne infantry

● WWII-era parachuting and airborne forces

● WWII Commonwealth and US militaria

● Suez Crisis 1956

● Falklands War 1982

● 1st Gulf War 1990-91

Sure thing, I’m interested.

i am not really a heavy gamer, but i do play the following games recently

starcraft
star wars battlefront II
battlefield 1942 ( i give it away to my cousin)
nhl 2005
(might play Second life)

Actually i can contribute more by working on the movie review, since i have a lot of movies or documentary video about world war 2.
I have
-Band of Brothers (only watch 1-2 so far)
-world at war 1-26 (havent had time to watch it though)
-hitler: the rise of evil
-yamato
-it happens here
various documentary video about world war 2 (over 13 episode)
-Cross Of Iron
-The great raid

In the future, if i have enough money. I will buy PS-3 and try out call of duty 3.

And i dont mind doing a review on world war 2 games. If i happens to have that game, or afford to buy it. I seriously think that i havent contribute enough. (being captain obvious again)

I’m new to the forum and WWII history in general. So far this is the nicest forum I’ve found on the subject. Very informative. I’d be curious to know how many other women are on this forum. One suggestion I have is:

Women Spies in WWII

Welcome im glad you find the forum informative! Ive been here for almost 2 years now and im sorry to say your probably the 5th female member that we’ve had (well that has made more than one post). Those in past seemed to be drawn here by a certain topic of the time and not really coz of general interest in ww2. So look forward to your posts.

BTW please start a thread on WW2 Women spies or other area’s of ww2. Would be nice to more articles about the women’s war effort.

Tanks
Companys
Battles
Guns
Armys

Not sure why this was moved to the archive room but it should stay out so we can ask you for help in area’s in the future. SO PLEASE LEAVE IT HERE.
