It looks like a German MG34 on an antiaircraft (naval?) mount. Just a guess…
It could have also been an Atlantic Wall fortification mount…

You’re welcome. The above site I listed was for a rather undisturbed (read relatively unbombed and shelled by the Allies) on Jersey. There were some nice finds on the Channel Islands I understand, there was even a French CharB in near mint condition the Germans appropriated as a “beutepanzer” on one of them, forget which…
Trouble with me taken the photos at the Dunkirk Museum is, I did not put down the details, or take a photo of, what I had taken, we had just driven from Bray Dunes, which is only a short distance away, but the Museum was still a hard one to find, due to having to drive through the City, even with the sat-nav, which the good old French law, as banned, if you have a speed camera warning fitted
