What is your favorite Soviet Gun?

My favority Sovet Gun is PPSH, Mosin, Dehterev.

PPSH for sure!

I like PPSH, but PTRD (Anti-tank gun of Degtjarev) is good also…

Also Mosin-Nagant was a very good rifle. Romanian WW2 snipers usually preferred Mosin-Nagant.

Yep. Mosin-Nagan was excelent gun, for now many hunters in Russia using it. But in the war, for ordinary infantry, Mosin-Nagant was out of date. Only aotomatic guns was useful…

Id have to go with PPSH

Hmm… in case of war and if i can"t get something better, than WWII russian guns (oh, no M1 Carabine or MP 42/StG43, huh ?)… Hard to answer question…
Maybe i will use one of these AVS 36 or SVT 40 autorifle.

If i need make my choise from old USSR SMGs - no doubts, PPS (Pistolet-Pulemet Sudaeva)

I have to agree

Mosin-Nagant of course!

I like Tokarev TT

so its PPSH -41 or PPSH -43?[/quote]

PPSh-41:

PPS-43:

so which gun do you think its better, i think ppsh 41 is better at rate of fire and ppsh 43 is better at accuracy

a) high rates of fire are bad in SMGs - around 450rpm is ideal (Smith & Smith Small Arms Of The World talks about this). This isn’t a game of Top Trumps.
b) I am not aware of which is supposed to be the more accurate, but an educated guess is that the PPSh will be more accurate in use simply because it is heavier, particularly with the drum mag. When an SMG is ready to fire, the breech block is held back. When you pull the trigger, the breech block flies forward, strips a round from the magazine, chambers it and fires it. There is considerable movement of the weapon due to the breech block before the round has even been fired. If the weight of the wpn is higher, this movement will be less (on the basis of conservation of momentum).

PPS-43 is a much better weapon, good rate of fire, very relaible, cheap to manufacutre and maintain, easy to load/reload, light and compact.

The only thing I don’t like about it is that the stock is a bit flimsy.

I think the PPsh 41 is better because of its higher rate of fire, around 900 RPM, excellent durability and low matinence (sounds a little like the AK)
