What was post-World War II like?

I can’t find anything about what the world was like after World War II ended. How did people recover? What all happened? Were there new allies/enemies that resulted from it? Was anything really accomplished with World War II, or was there no good outcome?

Tyre guy?

This is what happens to bad tyre guys (and that’s a lot of blood on the ground in such a short time - looks a bit like an arterial spurt when he stands up)

Anyway, he’s not having a Goodyear.

He must have had a change of heart , he’s hawking medical supplies now, sorta fits with the video eh? He is now in the tender care of the Procyon re-education camp.

More likely he’s supplementing his disability pension as a model for surgical students. Or a poster boy for the “how not to” section of occupational health and safety.

There are a number of books on the subject. One that deals with Japan in the post-war period is “Embracing Defeat”. I read another about Germany but can’t find it right now.
