White Russians in Manchukuo Army

Hi,

When the Japanese set up their colony of Manchukuo they found the land was already populated with settlements of Cossacks and white Russian emigres.
Although there was some suspicion from the Japanese that the communities could harbour spies for the USSR, I understand that some of their number fought in the Manchukuo armed forces. (I think there may be pictures in the photo section of the site).

Can anybody shed any light on these people, i.e. are there any more pictures available?
Also, were they able to hold commissions? Could they be fighter pilots etc, or were they restricted to the infantry?

Thanx,

If i am not mistaken, in the early 19s, it is quite common for Chinese Warlords to hire caucasians/westerner mercenaries as a part of their cohorts. partly for the prestige and display.
