and it’s “A Bridge Too Far”, not “The Bridge Too Far” flamethrowerguy can you tell me where I can get my hands on those German films?
Should be no big deal to get those on ebay or amazon. The major problem would be the shipping costs…
Some German war movies are available at “Belle & Blade”. I bought 08/15 from them.
B&B’s website is www.warshows.com.
The “08/15” trilogy is a fine pick, kuuk. Somewhat humorous.
Thanks, it doesn’t say anything on that site about subtitles. Does it have English subs? (08/15)
BTW I just dug up this awesome forum post that has a list of the 20 best soviet war films and info on where to buy a lot of them, some with english subs:
http://www.armchairgeneral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14923
However my copy is german language only (no subtitles), there is a subtitled version available:
http://www.amazon.com/08-15-Complete-Trilogy/dp/B000Q1K4KE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1227515685&sr=8-1
Bobulon. The version I have DOES have English subtitles, and is distributed by BETA Film, sold by Bell & Blade, and of course utilizes the US system (NTSC.)
The series I have are 1: The Barracks, 2:At the front, and 3:Back at home. There is also a fourth film, made years later, that more less tells a later story of some of the main characters, and others, during the 19 fifties. Germany was then known as “Das Wirtschafts Wunder” or better said “The economical miracle”. Good Luck finding one!
