WW2 in Color

Simply put, when I first discovered this site a few years ago, it was a large collection of WW2 color photographs, and I was delighted to find such a rare archive.

Since then, I came back to the site to find the majority of photos being black and white… what gives?

It would seem as though the main attraction of the site was the large quantity of color photos, not just WW2 photos.

Is there a way that I can search and filter results by only color photographs? For me, that was the real perk of this site.

B/w photos were part of the site from the beginning on. Unfortunately there’s only a limited amount of WW2 color photos available so that meanwhile the number of b/w photos prevails. Although a lot of low-quality or/and somewhat featureless b/w pictures are uploaded we did not consider to close down the site because of that though.

I guess not.

I don’t get it.
This site is a huge resource, be the images in colour or otherwise.
I for one, am mighty glad of this site, this forum, and the good folk here.

There is no color section, be interesting if there was but it might lead to people uploading the same image twice, one to the color section and again to the country/military section or just the country/military section.

I don’t think there is anyway to search but a keyword search with Google might work. Only noticed there is a color front page when i used Google rather than my bookmark

I found three very nice image from the net.
