can anyone tell me what the modern day USD was equal to in WW2?
Ww2 Usd…??
Wow now theres an open question !
- todays dollar against what other currency ?
- todays exchange rate against WWll foreign currency ?
I can say that during the war it would have been 5 D-marks to 1 USD thats 1940’s dollars
USD means united states dollar and i was referring to how much the united states dollar is worth today as opposed to the 1940’s more specifically world war 2 (keep in mind FDR had prices frozen in '41 or '42), i have always wondered about this
the 1940 dollar is worth around 15 dollars today
example:
a pack of cigarettes cost 19 cents then 3 dollars today
an average home cost 8,000 dollars in 1940 today 150,000

thanks, but where did you get the info?
the us dollar conversion table for the year 2006 it takes todays dollar and converts it value every year back to 1800. In 1940 1,000 today was worth 12,600 so I rounded it out.
