WWII Dragonbacks (shellback)

This was a ritual that men who are on the seas had to take part in , “Shellback” initiation that all servicemen that cross the equator on a ship have to go through. Rank and service doesnt matter. If you cant prove you have been through it before, you get it again!
Here are my Grandfathers cards and his jacket that all his buddys signed
My Grandfathers nick name was Mouse ,and was his nickname the family called him even after the war.
The jacket has mother of pearl buttons on it ,But first here is his dragonback cards

In the Royal Navy this is called crossing the Line, the ceremony dates back hundreds of years and I found references to the Portugese probably being the first to carry out the one that still goes on today. I have an old book about them and their pioneering sea journies to the East.
