I have recently purchased a WWII U.S Army helmet for $47 AUD
If you know what that equates to in your currency thats pretty goddamn cheap eh! Im not sure if you can order in some places of the world but it’s a excellant site!
Aren’t there are a few options missing from that poll?
Reliable in what way? For covering my head? Keeping the rain out? Washing in?
Please expand.
They’re very reliable from a Sy point of view, tell them a secret and they’ll never let on.
Hiddenrug, I just deleted your poll. It is incomplete and very vague.
You have to make strict references for a specific type of helmet.
Otherwise it will look like:
Which was the best fighter of WW2:
a)An American fighter
b)A German fighter
How it will sound this kind of poll?
Then a responsible mod would add British fighter, Russian fighter…
All I can see is one small picture with the $47 helmet with liner out but it does not look to be WWII vintage. It is the same look but it is not WWII, maybe vietnam era.

I said that his poll was incomplete. He added only US WW2 helmet and German WW2 helmet.
Now it’s clear?
@Hiddenrug:
Mate, when you’ll make a choice for what kind of helemts you are asking for our opinions, edit your first post, or let me know for adding the poll.
For instance, check http://www.german-helmets.com/ for German helmets.
http://www.johnnyg.westhost.com/helmets-usa-3.html for US helmets.
http://www.xs4all.nl/~gastein/ukca_mk1_mk2.htm British helmets.
http://www.aboutww2militaria.com/index.html?rus_steel_helmets.htm for Soviet helmets.
The links provided are few of the hundreds on the internet dealing with WW2 helmets. So it’s time to search (and research) for yourself prior to post a poll!
This is also my opinion.
On http://www.johnnyg.westhost.com/helmets-usa.html
you’ll find this:
With the text “H-U230. U.S. VietNam War era Paratroopers Helmet, this helmet has the Viet Nam era green liner with triangle paratroopers side straps, no chin rest strap. Inside strap is marked “Liner Soldiers Steel Helmet Combat Type - 2 July 1970”…$98.00”
On the other hand on the Site provided by Hiddenrug, you’ll find:
With text “U.S. Combat Helmet & liner…$47”
Now, this might be a genuine ww2 US helmet:
"H-U213. U.S. WWII M1 Combat Helmet (Fixed Bale issue 1941-1942) This helmet has WW2 front seam, original OD paint, stitched on WWII issue chinStraps, WWII Helmet Liner with makers mark for the " Westinghouse Electric Company (Micarta Division Pittsburge Pennsylvania) " helmet is marked Medium…WWII M1 Combat Helmet…$250.00 "
Note that are a lot of fakes and a lot of replicas. All of them are cheap. If you want genuine WW2 items, avoid cheap prices (they are rare - 60 years passed)
Mate, I beat you up again!
Indeed it is a good site.
