Went to the Boeing Museum of Flight this last weekend and got soem great shots!!
Nice photo of a great aircraft, any more?
“The Champlin Collection’s Yak-9 is one of four original aircraft known. It is the only original Yak-9 on display in the West. It is equipped with an original engine and propeller, and all instrumentation and other miscellaneous parts are of original Russian manufacture. The aircraft is painted in the markings of the Russian World War II ace, Gen. Maesky.”
From the Museum of Flight’s web page.
An update on this specific Yak 9U.
Actually I shot all of the planes in the Personal Courage exhibit which is all WWI and WWII. The WWII planes are the best I think because they are all authentic with the exception of the P-51 mock up. I’ll post more photos under the appropriate military if you would like.
Why not post your whole collection in off topic Miltaria? I for one am interested to see them.
Waistgunner- I visited the Champlin many times when it was in Arizona with the American Aces museum. They have some great examples and most all were in flying shape like 15 years ago anyway.
I posted the other pics where suggested. I hope you like them.
Champlin, reminds me of someone else in another forum.
