Falklands Conflict

Erwin - “luckily you have a Prime Minister now”

We’ve had a Prime Minister since at leats 1721 (Sir Robert Walpole served as PM from 1721 until 1742). The Queen, unfortunately in my opinion, is not in charge of the country, she is the head of state in that every decision has to be rubber stamped by her, but she has no real power and I doubt that sany new law put in front of her is ever not stamped.

Why do you mock the Queen yet support the Pope? They are actually in very similar positions as head of an organisation, but you could make a lot of cases why having a Pope is actually against Christian teaching - worshipping anyone other than God is wrong according to the Commandments, after all. Unfortunately I don’t have enough religious knowledge to argue it out properly, but I’m sure someone on here could.

Oh - and according to the Bible, God and his son (should either of them exist/once have existed) don’t mention the Pope, so your argument about God never mentioning a Queen doesn’t really hold water.

Erwin, now I figured why you asked for a chat room!

Phew! I was worried for a moment we’d descended into crude racial stereotyping.

Yes, in particular the Irish Guards have something in common with Argentina - neither of them fought in the Falklands

Were they the ones who heroically resisted the Gurkhas by running off before the battle had started?

after the gurkhas who falled and blow up in pieces in the minefield?

Which ones were they?

Have you any names?
