German weapons in action.

Stripper clips can be quite tricky. It all depends on the quality of the stripper clip. I know that most of the clips I have are crap and I can get maybe the first two or three in and then the other few are a big hassle to get in. The really good ones have springs in them (those are so awesome  )[/quote]

“Stripper clips can be quite tricky.”

Aye - if the plonker using them hasn’t a Scooby about how they’re used.
The 96 is a piece of duff to load using them.

One would have thought that these people making vids would hae found out how the tools work and become slick with their drills before allowing the planet to laugh at them

according o the website you provide
MG-42 is still being used today?

As far as I know the German and Spainish army still use the MG42. It’s called the MG3 now.

Yugoslav Marshal Tito demanded copy of MG-42 right after 1945.
It wasn’t easy but Yugoslav industry succeeded and finally manufactured perfect copy designated M53.

For me it workmanship is a bit crude but don’t have good pics of oryginal
MG-42 to compare.
Yugoslav M53 was widely used in Balkan wars and is still used by armies of fragmented Yugoslavia - Croatian, Serb etc.

Yugoslav army also used captured StG44s.
Up to mid 70’s this was Yugoslav paras standard weapon…

I also had picture of East German Vopos - VolksPolizei with StG44.
I will post later.

Edited!

Yes, the MG 42 is crude, they were crude, still are, because it’s designed that way. Crude does not necessarily equal bad if that was a design consideration at the start.

The only MG 42 derivative which is not crude is the Swiss MG 51, in which they designed out most of the things which make it a really good design by eliminating stampings and replacing them with – – machined parts, ffs! The whole point of the design was to keep the number of machined parts down to an absolute minimum! All the Swiss redesign did was add weight and add cost. In their defence, they will probably go on forever.

2 cm Flak in use in the Italian front, both single and quadruple mountings.

The Tompson in the video was the ROF altered at all. I don’t remember it firing that fast. Same with the MG34.

You’re right Outerheaven, it was way too fast !
I thought the '34 was about right mind.

Also a shame that the left-hooker with the Hawaiian shirt doesn’t seem able to control anything but the MP.

The…Mighty? Stuka D in action.
