Italy - date unknown...

German paras (Fallschirmjager) on patrol somewhere in Italy, date unknown....the soldier in the foreground has a rather unique pattern of camouflage (I admit I'm not familiar with)...

cool ss runes, looks like from the old typewriter

Great photo, and rare! The first time I’ve ever seen a Fallschirmjäger wearing a “Palm pattern” ϟϟ smock.

Maybe the answer for the unsusual clothing is that they served in the Fallschirm-Panzer-Division "Hermann Göring". Or the soldier maybe changed his oroginal cloth with a comrede from the 16. SS-Panzer-Grenadier-Division.

Possibly FJ500, SS para’s that attacked Tito’s HQ in May '44?
