Not all of my efforts have been successful guys.I have had a few that did not work out to my liking.Using Photoshop allows for some tweaking most of the time.
A few that “don’t quite turn out as you’d like” would, I’d think, be statistically natural, Rudeerude my friend.
What strikes me most is the talent you have for what you do with the works you produce.
Certainly, I couldn’t do it with as much visual fluency.
Nor do I think many could.
You’ve taken a concept, and gradually evolved it into what amounts to a new art.
For that, and for the tremendous results you have thus far achieved, you do deserve much recognition and credit.
Warm, Kind, and Respectful Regards Rudeerude my friend, Uyraell.
Here,Here! working with images, be it making them with a camera, or a computer, sometimes will not yield the expected result, but that does not at all mean that its an unworthy result. We are all our own harshest critic, but don’t listen to that guy. The truth of your work is yours alone, but can often best (and rightly so) be seen through others’ eyes.
More from the Poteau ambush area. The then picture shows German Officers walking back toward their vehicles once the crossroads had been captured.Enjoy
You have accomplished some great effects in those photos!
Those are really great,Thanks for posting!
Thanks Doering and Za Rodinu for the comments.Za Rodinu welcome to the forum.
Well its been awhile and finally got motivated to do an update for this thread.Info the village of Ligneuville. The photo was taken after the recapture of Ligneuville in January of 1945.The Panther could be from Peipers Kampfgruppe.Enjoy
Right, Panther “152”/SS-Panzer-Regiment 1 LSSAH. Tank’s commander was SS-UStuF Arndt Fischer (Peiper’s post-war dentist). The tank was knocked-out by a Sherman on December 17, 1944 killing the Panther’s driver, 19-year-old SS-Sturmmann Wolfgang Simon.
P.S. once more an excellent job here!
And ,to add insult, there was a citation for overtime parking.
Thanks for the update. I always check your “now and then” images out.
Thanks for that added info FTG much appreciated.
Excellent…Excellent…Excellent!!!
Battle Of the Bulge, these pictures of Fallschirmjager were taken on the 12/18/44 by an SS- Kriegsberichter of Tiger.II number 222.

Hi rureerude,
this evening, for the first time since i joined the forum, i had the chance to look at this thread “Now and Then Pictures merged”… I can’t find the right words to express my feelings about your amazing job… I think that is an extraordinary idea and an astonishing way to carry it out. Have you never been thinkin’ to enlarge and print some of them? (i hope you did it…) Some of them seem unreal and real, at the same time… The soldiers look like ghosts, walkin’ down the everyday roads…Many thank for sharing with us!!! Best things to you and your family.

ps - if you give me the permission, but only if you’ll do it, i would like to use one of them like background for the computer screen… Make me know something.

Hi rudeerude,
i just want to thank you for your kind availability. I’m pretty sure that you had some fun in doin’ this job, but i just want you to know that you presented the same emotions to all the people that (like myself) share great passion for WWII history. Take care of you.
